When a girl winks at a guy even if its typed in an email what does it mean?

I was wondering on what it means when a girl winks at a guy even in an email. For example, a guy emails a girl saying this "I think that you like me or something". The girl responds with an email saying these words " I wouldn't get so cocky now ; )" What is the typed wink supposed to mean? Is it the same thing as the regular wink? It seems that wink can mean many things or maybe nothing at all. Does anyone have any guesses on the power of winking and its meaning? By the way the email message is not based on a real situation it's just a scenerio.

it's flirting!, or it can just mean, I like you..it is a warm gesture, slightly intimate. are you sure it wasn't a typo, and she meant ): happy! if it really was a wink, i think she is answering his assertive question, in part with body language, it's like' don't get so 'cocky' now, and the wink could be a sexual come on, or it could be 'don't be too sure of yourself, i don't like a guy with a big ego, but lessening the blow with a wink to lighten it up, or it could mean that she is contradicting herself in her sentence..i think she mostly like's him, and even his directness, but isn't as assertive a communicator has him (perhaps

without obvious body language, clear speech(tone, etc.) it can be very challenging to figure it out, but on the other hand, people often reveal lmuch more about themselves on email, because it's like a secret, and they may be too embarassed to say so directly..thus all the dating on line clubs!)but half of them lie, and when they finally meet the gorgeous, blah, blah, they turn out to be something entirely different, and the guy might just drive off without a word!


So i agree with you thoroughly, that it takes on different meanings, with different people, it can be sexual and flirty, or could be friendly and mean"don't worry, be happy", or just a more intimate bye for now..it doesn't have to be a guy and a girl either.


i would be far more interested if you threw out the real scenario, you don't know us, we are from 28 countries, you know nothing about us, so your asking the world, and every culture will have a different opinion, as it takes on different conotations in different cultures. So what is the real question behind the question

Reply:A wink can have a great impact on a sentence or a word! For example it can change an innocent conversation like "do you like me?"..."maybe".....to...."do you like me?"...."maybe ;)".


It can represent confidents,flirtyness,it can cover up nervousness and shyness and more! It may not necessarily mean she is flirting with you...she might not want to tell you the answer right away so is dragging it out by leaving you hanging there with no definate answer.This also leaves her in controll so be carefull! ;)
